WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Volunteers are needed for the Poker Run. Volunteers will need to help pass out flyers at local businesses and help in fund raising for the Poker Run.
Please Contact Diane Walker to volunteer.

WE NEED RIDERS!

On August 22, come help support a wonderful cause, by riding in our first annual Poker Run. The cost is only $20 PER BIKE. All procedes go to completing the trail engineering study in the trail development process and the engineering study estimate is around $3800. To raise these funds we are hosting a huge motorcycle poker run on Saturday, August 22nd. This is a 6 county, 125-mile run and we need around 200 motorcycles to make it a success! The blessing is 200 motorcycles would enter our event - however even if only 10 motorcycles enter we still need many volunteers to make the experience a great one for all.

The Soddy-Daisy Rails to Trails Advocacy Group was created to engage in activities that support a 21st century community. The purpose of our group is to coordinate the planning for and development of a converted North Hamilton County TVA railway into a sustainable community friendly trail.
The trail will be a six-mile multi-use trail that runs from Tractor Supply in Soddy-Daisy to Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.

How Can You Help?

We are in the planning stages of the trail and in need of volunteers to help with different committees and planning. We meet on the third Monday of each month at Soddy-Daisy city hall. The meeting begins at 6:30 and lasts for an hour. Please come to our next meeting and tell a friend about the proposed trail.

Who Will Benefit

The Soddy-Daisy rail trail will run along Sequoyah Access Road for six miles. Within walking distance are four schools, a nursing home, several businesses, dozens of churches and at least 10 subdivisions. The trail is for all residents of Hamilton County.
Walking, running, cycling and even horseback riding enthusiast would utilize the trail daily. We are proposing at least two parking areas with several rest rooms along the trail. The trail will be a paved surface 10 to 12 feet wide with a possible adjacent dirt trail for horseback riding.
